Initially, it was a simple plan. God wanted to fellowship with man. Adam and Eve in a perfect setting … the Garden of Eden. Everything was in harmony with God - man, animal, birds, the environment, and the earth.

We all know what happened after the fact, but God knew ahead of time what would happen.

1 Peter 1:18-20

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,”

God, in His omniscience and foreknowledge, graciously planned for man’s redemption by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sins … before the foundation of the world.

While God knew in advance what would happen, He did not reveal it all at one time. As time moved ahead, more and more of God’s plan would be revealed. Each step forward in time crystalized a feature in God’s plan.
