THE KINGDOM

The Kingdom represents that future period in time when Jesus Christ reigns as ruler on earth. He literally rules the world from His throne in Jerusalem. Since His reign will last for 1,000 years, it is also known as the Millennial Period, or Millennial Reign of Christ.

It will be a glorious time which follows the Tribulation Period. In fact, it is Christ’s return (aka The Second Coming of Christ) which will end the Tribulation Period. It will be a period of righteousness, peace, prosperity.

The verses below characterize what the Millennial Period will look like. It is worth mentioning that only Christians will enter this period (according to the parable of the sheep and goats in Matthew 25:31-46).

Isaiah 2:2-4

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Mountains are representative of kingdoms, and the kingdom of Jesus Christ will be above all kingdoms. He will teach us His ways and judge all during this blessed time period. His rule will be based upon righteousness and will be absolute!

Isaiah 11:6

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.”

There will be peace among all people and among the animals, similar to the conditions that existed in the Garden of Eden before the sin of Adam and Eve.

Isaiah 11:9

“… for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”

Everyone, everywhere will know about the Lord, for knowledge of Him will be established. No one can say “I didn’t know” what Christ, as King, expects from us.

Isaiah 27:6

“He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.”

God will bless the people and land of Israel in fulfillment of His promises, and the world will benefit from this blessing.

Isaiah 35:5-6

“Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.”

There will be no physical or mental infirmities during this period.

Isaiah 65:20

There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.”

People will experience long life. Those who die at the age of 100 will be thought to have died young. The sinner who dies at 100 would be known to be cursed.

Isaiah 65:24

“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

Instant messaging will take on new meaning. Before we begin to pray, Christ will hear and answer. With Christ seated on His throne in Jerusalem, we will experience a rapidity of answered prayer and a level of intimacy not known before.
